Thea Stewart
I chose to become a CamdenPLUS Resident because I believe that every child deserves a world class education. My experiences as a student have fueled my desire to coach and develop teachers to build highly effective relationships and classrooms.
Prior to the Residency, I was a founding special education coordinator and an assistant school leader with KIPP DC and Mastery public charter schools. While working in DC, I supported teachers in decreasing the number of students in the lowest quartile on nationally normed tests, from 75% to 21%. I earned the School Board Award in 2012 for my contributions in special services, where more than 80% of my students with special needs met all their goals.
